Every year, Hallgrimskirkja´s magnificent Klais-organ attracts renowned organists from far and wide.
On Thursday August 20th, the organist of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, Olivier Latry, will give two concerts in Hallgrimskirkja, demonstrating the beauty and power of Iceland’s largest instrument standing 15 metres tall with it’s 5273 pipes, 4 keyboards and 72 voices.
The first concert, starting at 20.00, is a solo concert including works by Durufle, Mobberley, Paulet and Grigny, but at 22.00 Latry will be joined by his wife Shin-Young Lee for a four-handed (and four-feeted!) version of Stravinsky´s Le Sacré des Printemps.
