The Hague International Baroque Orchestra is comprised of some of the finest musicians around the world, most having studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, one of the leading academies in baroque performance. There they studied with some of the most capable profes- sors in baroque performance, such as Ton Koopman, Jacques Ogg, Ryo Terakado, Enrico Gatti, Elizabeth Wallfisch, Jaap ter Linden and the Kuij- ken brothers. Since their graduation, members of The Hague Interna- tional Baroque Orchestra have established themselves as highly sought after musicians in Europe, now regularly performing with some of the world\u2018s leading ensembles and orchestras that specialize in historically informed performances under the baton of acclaimed directors. These include the Ricercar Consort, Les Arts Florissants, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Bach Collegium Japan, Concerto Copenhagen, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Gabrieli Consort & Players, Collegium Vocale Gent, Capriccio Stravagante and Orchestre des Champs-Elys\u00e9es, and directors such as Philippe Pierlot, William Christie, Masaaki Suzuki, Skip Semp\u00e9 and Philippe Herreweghe.<\/p>\n

Members of The Hague International Baroque Orchestra have frequently visited Iceland since performing Bach\u2018s Christmas Oratorio in Hallgr\u00edmskirkja in 2004. The orchestra last visited in 2011 and 2012, performing Bach\u2018s St John Passion with The Hallgr\u00edmskirkja Motet Choir at three concerts in Hallgr\u00edmskirkja and at the Hof Cultural Center in Akureyri with conductor H\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00c1skelsson with the great support of the German Ambassador in Iceland and playing in Harpa Concert Hall together with the The Hallgr\u00edmskirkja Motet Choir on their 30th anniversary , with H\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00c1skelsson Music Director of Hallgr\u00edmskirkja, performing J.S. Bach the Christmas Oratorio in 4 concerts.
