Olivier Latry<\/p><\/div>\n

Olivier Latry is the grand organist of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and a professor of the organ at the Paris Conservatory.<\/p>\n

At only 23, Latry got a position at this grand cathedral of France, his new position propelling him into the international scene. He has since performed in over fifty countries in five continents, both as a soloist and with orchestras. His extensive list of recordings includes the complete organ works of Olivier Messia\u00ebn, published by Deutsche Grammophon, Poulenc\u00b4s organ concert and Saint-Sa\u00ebn\u00b4s 3. Symphony which he performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and director Christoph Eschenbach (Ondine). Recent CDs published under the French label Na\u00efve are one where Latry plays Erard\u00b4s pedal piano (1853) from the Paris Museum of Music and another dedicated to his forerunners (Trois si\u00e8cles d\u2019orgue \u00e0 Notre-Dame de Paris <\/em>or Three Centurys of the Organ in the Notre-Dame of Paris<\/em>). <\/em><\/p>\n

L<\/em>atry has been granted numerous prizes for his playing, amongst them \u201cFondation Cino et Simone Del Duca\u201d in 2000, \u201cFellowship Honoris Causa\u201d from North and Midlands School of Music in the UK in 2006 and from the Royal College of Organists in 2007. He was also nominated \u201cInterntional performer of the year\u201d by the American Guild of Organists in New York in 2009. In June 2010 he was made \u201cDoctor Honoris Causa\u201d at the Montr\u00e9al University and organiste \u00e9m\u00e9rite<\/em> at the Montr\u00e9al Symphony Orchestra in 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
